Material of the month


This fabric is made from plastic sequins which are tarnished and then sewn onto an organza fabric in an overlapping effect. The fabrics can be used for products as art panels for walls, lamp shades, dividing screens, curtains, cushions, but can also be incorporated in resin or glass, to make decorative panels.

Modern orb-weaving spiders have evolved well-designed adhesives to capture preys. This adhesive is laid on a pair of axial silk fibres as micron-sized glue droplets that are composed of an aqueous coat of salts surrounding nodules made of glycoproteins.

The Bio Robot Refrigerator is four times smaller than a conventional refrigerator and cools biopolymer gel through luminescence. Rather than shelves, the non sticky, odourless gel morphs around products.
