Move beyond the basics of sustainability to transform how we understand the many varied components which comprise sustainable design. Materia invited by the Dutch Consulate in Canada, (the organisation of the IIDEX and Design Exchange ) organised an exposition about ''sustainable by design'', which revolutionized how people think of design and the environment.  

Keynote presentation by Els Zijlstra with subject: How should we transform the built environment? How can we forecast what we will need and how we will react in ten or hundred years? Considering that the biological and psychical rules about how we respond on space, colours, daylight and movement will never change.
